Church on Sunday...Civray-sur-Esves

Its very unlikely that you will come across this stark little church when touring the Loire Valley as it is a little of the beaten track, so this Sunday  we are bringing it to you.

The eglise Saint-Rémi is another church with its origins in 12th century. The asp and choir were
rebuilt in the 15th century.

Its attractive little alter is the only concession to the normal religious excess of church interiors.

The small nave of the church with its vaulted wood and plaster ceiling seems well out of proportion to the rest of the church and its ancient door must mean that the parishioners must be pretty chilly during the winter months.

Where's Joan? - no Joan, indeed only this fellow...no idea who he is!
